I once again voice my concern upon returning in an email. I get a short response which ends with "That being said, we are unable to provide the requested refund." (To be clear, I never outright requested a refund in my email. Just wanted to them to acknowledge that THEY were the ones at fault and it was poorly handled by them from beginning to end. And with their response, they reaffirmed this.)
I booked a trip with them that included flights using their website. Two days later, I receive a call that the return flight that was shown to me was on the penultimate night listed on trip schedule and I would therefore need to change it: $50 fee from Gate 1, $150 fee for the airline (since it was over 24 hours since the flight booking, it was 150). I was confused: your website generated incorrect information to me and now you are going to charge ME for it? The service rep spoke to her supervisor for one second and said they could waive the $50 but not the 150. I was in the middle of an extremely busy work day and reluctantly said fine, even though I knew it was wrong. Months go by, I go on the trip, I return. There were no activities planned on the "last day" listed on the itinerary or on the evening before.
we have called ourselves the M19 gang ,and I am doing this for all of us , my husband and my children did the tour last year and we could't wait for the next one, and we dragged other 19 family members to go with us. At the end all were asking" when is the next one," your tour guide Julian was the most hard working and accomodating person we have ever seen each of the local guides were well informed . I have used Gate 1 travel for years as well as recommended it as a reputable travel company, yet now I see why Gate 1 has a B rating with Better Business Bureau. I purchased a package trip to Dubai for October 2017 with airport to hotel transfers. Once my travel docs were ready, I do not have airport pickup as I am arriving one day early. It has never been a problem with Gate 1 before as I arrived on a Gate 1 Japan and Peru trip one day early and had transport to the hotel. But Gate 1 states they do not have "travel arrangements" to transfer me to the hotel one day early which is rather odd as they are a TRAVEL COMPANY. I had two trips in planning to Africa and India with Gate 1 but will find a more reputable company that truly "values customers" as they so proudy state.
Look elsewhere if you want to travel and not be scammed by Gate 1.
First Time Customer. I've never used a travel company in the past, I've always booked my own flights, hotels, cars, sight-seeing, etc. This was my first time in Asia and I felt a little uncertain since I don't speak the language, so I decided to go with a Gate 1 planned tour to Thailand. Thanks largely to our tour director, Vit, I had a wonderful experience! I'm not sure how much Vit makes working for Gate 1, but I assure you it is not enough. That guy is on point and he turned a special trip into an extraordinary one! Vit, wherever you are you, THANK YOU and I wish you good luck! As for Gate 1, I will be booking another trip in the near future.
I have done multiple trips with them, but the last one left such a bad taste in my month, I refuse to go with them again and highly advise others not to book with them.
